David Keuning, the owner and principal drummer of AfroBeat Drumming has studied music since a child and been drumming for the past 14 years. He started AfroBeat Drumming in 2004.
Russell Warley, our bass drummer and percussionist, whose roots lie in the healing power of music, brings a great vibe to every drumming event and is happy to allow you to have a go on the bass drum.
Michelle Klein, our co-facilitator has approximately 13 years drumming experience and brings a spiritual element to every drumming event.
Career Highlights
Drumming for Nelson Mandela at a private function. (We all got to meet him personally and shake his hand, something we will never forget.)
Performing at an Aids Benefit held at the Centre for the Book where we got to meet Desmond Tutu and Pieter Dirk-Uys.
We also performed as part of a larger group at the first 46664 Aids Concert held at the Green Point Stadium in Cape Town.
Other highlights include performing at the "Kalvie Vees" held in Onrus and performing at the start of the Argus/Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour in 2005.
